A 30 mm scope needs 30 mm rings, and Weaver rings clamp the base directly. They also transfer to a Picatinny rail later because a Weaver cross-bar fits the wider Picatinny slot.
Pick ring height by objective size so the bell clears the barrel, and confirm the rings are 30 mm, since a 1 inch ring will not close on a 30 mm tube.
