30 mm scope tube
A 30 mm tube takes 30 mm rings and nothing else. Here is the diameter, the ring match rule and how ring height clears the objective bell.
Ring diameter must match the tube. A 30 mm scope needs 30 mm rings. Even a small mismatch either stops the ring closing or lets the scope slip under recoil, so measure the main tube with calipers if the figure is not printed on the scope.
A 30 mm tube has more room for internal elevation and windage travel than a 1 inch tube, so it suits higher magnification and longer-range dialling.
Once the ring diameter matches the tube, ring height decides objective clearance: taller rings lift the scope so a larger objective bell clears the barrel and rail. Low rings suit small objectives, taller rings are needed as the objective grows.
